Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis

Hair Tissue Analysis Tests

What is HTMA?
HTMA stands for Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis. It is a process whereby a small sample of hair is tested in a laboratory to establish a person’s internal mineral environment including toxic elements (heavy metals). Whereas blood tests give us a snapshot of what is happening at the time the blood is taken, HTMA gives us up 3-6 months of biochemical history.

Why do we need to know this?
Knowing what is happening biochemically within the body can not only explain why certain symptoms are occurring, or not responding to well indicated homeopathic remedies, it can also give us a clear picture of any imbalances that we may need to address and any heavy metals that we need to detox. It can give clear indications of things such as adrenal fatigue, thyroid problems, insulin resistance and histamine problems even before these conditions get severe enough to produce obvious physical symptoms.

What happens once we have the results of the HTMA?
Once the results are available (usually 2-3 weeks after testing) I will work through all the results, prioritising the most significant and put together a treatment plan for you. This will include specific homeopathic remedies in your prescription as well as suggestions for dietary/lifestyle changes you may benefit from and suggestions of supplements that may help redress any imbalance.

How do I arrange an HTMA?
You can book this via my website or booking link. There are 3 options, if you are a new patient who hasn’t worked with me before, choose Initial Appointment + HTMA, if we are already working together and you’d like an HTMA as part of your next appointment choose Follow Up Appointment + HTMA, if you are seeing another homeopath and would like an HTMA test and a detailed report with suggestions on how to proceed with treatment to pass on to your homeopath then choose HTMA only. I am currently offering this HTMA service to patients in UK, USA and Australia, if you live outside these countries and would like an HTMA please get in touch before booking in.
